• Preparation: Ensure that the airotor handpiece is clean and sterilized before use. Check that the chuck mechanism is functioning correctly.
• Select the Appropriate Burr: Choose the dental bur or tool that is suitable for the specific dental procedure you are performing.
• Insert the Burr: Open the chuck mechanism and insert the selected bur securely into the handpiece. Close the chuck to grip the bur firmly.
• Connect to Air Supply: Attach the handpiece to the dental chair’s air supply hose using the appropriate connector. Ensure a secure fit to prevent air leakage.
• Adjust Speed and Spray: Adjust the air pressure and water spray as needed for the procedure. Some airotors have adjustable speed settings for different tasks.
• Begin the Procedure: Start the airotor by pressing the appropriate button or lever, depending on the model. Begin the dental procedure, ensuring precise and controlled movements.
• Monitor Patient Comfort: Continuously monitor the patient for any signs of discomfort or pain. Adjust the speed, pressure, or water spray if necessary to enhance patient comfort.
• Maintain aseptic conditions: Throughout the procedure, maintain aseptic conditions by avoiding contact between the handpiece and non-sterile surfaces. Keep the handpiece away from the patient’s mouth when not in use.
• Post-Procedure: After completing the dental procedure, turn off the airotor and detach it from the air supply. Dispose of single-use components, if applicable.
• Cleaning and Sterilization: Clean and sterilize the airotor. Autoclave the handpiece and any reusable components to ensure proper sterilization.
• Storage: Store the airotor in a clean and dry environment, protected from contamination.
